Step One realization

Step One is a two fold realization. First: Many of us realize and ceded to our innermost selves that “we are powerless over alcohol”. Some of us knowing and accepting this even before coming through the doors of A.A. Second: “that our lives were unmanageable” is often why we started coming to A.A. After coming to A.A. we realized and accepted both that: “We are powerless over alcohol - that our lives were unmanageable”.
